It’s no secret that our team has a soft spot for the InterContinental—we’ve captured over 50 weddings here, with 25 of them featured on our websites blog, dating all the way back to our very first wedding with Russ & Tiare in October 2015. Since then, we’ve built a beautiful relationship with the InterContinental’s incredible wedding dream team. While the ever-fabulous David was once the driving force behind many weddings here, we’ve continued that close connection through Wendy, the resort’s wonderfully warm and professional Wedding Executive. Her calming presence and genuine care for each couple ensures every wedding she oversees is seamless and special—you’re truly in the best hands with Wendy guiding your big day.
Every time we return, it feels like home. As creatives, we know all the best photo and video locations—from secret spots near the lagoon to that golden hour light pouring through the chapel’s floor-to-ceiling windows. Whether it’s a quiet lakeside moment or a cinematic shot down the palm-lined paths, this venue continues to inspire us, time and time again.
Let’s talk about the chapel—because as a photographer and videographer, I can honestly say the InterContinental’s Glass Chapel is one of the most beautiful spaces to capture a ceremony. Set right by the water with views of the Coomera River, the floor-to-ceiling glass windows fills the whole space with soft, natural light—which is an absolute dream for both photos and film. Everything feels bright, open, and elegant.
Inside, the clean white tiles, glass-top signing table, and silk florals throughout give it that timeless, romantic feel that so many couples are drawn to. There’s even a mezzanine level that gives us the perfect angle for those wide, sweeping ceremony shots (yes, we absolutely take advantage of that!).
It seats up to 80 guests and is non-denominational, so it really is a space for everyone. It's no wonder this chapel has been named #1 on the Gold Coast multiple years in a row—it’s iconic for a reason. We never get tired of filming here—it’s just that good.
For receptions, The Grange Room is an elegant favourite. With its ambient lighting, refined aesthetic, and versatile layout, it offers a warm and inviting space that’s perfect for both seated banquets and vibrant dancefloors. We’ve had countless couples fall in love with this room for its charm and intimacy—it truly sets the stage for unforgettable celebrations.
For couples after something even more grand, the MacArthur Ballroom offers pure opulence. From soaring ceilings to its spacious layout, this room is made for statement weddings. One of our most memorable celebrations here was Ken & Mariatou’s vibrant Nigerian wedding. They chose our premium full-day photo and video combo package, and I had the honour of capturing their stunning day on video. The energy, the colour, the joy—it was magic from beginning to end.
Another unforgettable celebration took place on the resort’s Lagoon Beach, where Charles & Alicia tied the knot in a simple yet stunning ceremony that was both timeless and stylish. Meanwhile, Andrew & Rebecca celebrated in the beautifully ambient Fireplace Room, which offered the perfect blend of warmth and intimacy.
And though we’ve seen the venue in all its glory, from ballroom grandeur to beachfront bliss, we’re still waiting (and crossing our fingers!) for a couple to choose the Fountain Terrace for a dreamy daytime reception—it’s one of those hidden gems just waiting to shine.
