A Sheraton Grand Mirage Wedding to Remember | Gold Coast Wedding Videographer
As the year continued to fly by, it wasn’t long before we arrived at our final wedding for 2017—and what an incredible way to close out the year. This Gold Coast wedding was filled with raw emotion, deep love, unfiltered passion, and so many beaming smiles. There’s truly no better way to finish a season of weddings than with a day so genuine and joyful.
From the moment we met with Jason and Katrina in the lead-up to their big day, we knew it would be something special. Easy-going and relaxed, they made everything flow so naturally. Filming this Sheraton wedding with just two videographers made the day intimate and smooth, and we loved every minute. A definite highlight was being able to capture the photos section of the day first, giving us plenty of beautiful footage and a fun, easy rhythm to the day.
Bridal prep was calm and full of anticipation, with Katrina having her hair styled by Hair I Come. The Gold Coast heat didn’t let up, even as the ceremony time rolled around in the late afternoon. If you live in Queensland, you’ll know that summer doesn’t cool down—sun or no sun! The ceremony was held outdoors and was full of life, laughter, and connection. With celebrant Benjamin Carlyle leading the way, there was plenty of humour and warmth to carry everyone through the most meaningful part of the day. A moment that stood out was Katrina’s heartfelt vows not only to her husband-to-be, but also to his son—a truly touching inclusion that we felt privileged to witness.
After the ceremony, the celebration moved into one of the Sheraton’s stunning reception rooms, beautifully styled by W Events Group. These guys always deliver something memorable, and this space was no exception. With styling details that perfectly complemented the mood, the night flowed with happy chatter, dancing, and unforgettable moments. Guests were treated to a stunning cake by Creative Cakes by Lisa, and the dance floor was kept alive all night by an incredible DJ who also supplied dry ice for the couple’s magical first dance—it looked absolutely amazing and added that cinematic flair we love.
We’re so grateful to have been part of this day and to have captured these memories. Creating wedding films like this is what we live for, and we hope this video brings joy for years to come.
