Weddings at The Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove never fail to deliver something truly special—and Robert & Sue’s day was no exception. With its iconic chapel and stunning grounds, it’s no wonder this venue is known across the Gold Coast wedding industry.
We had the chance to meet with Robert & Sue not long before the big day to go over final details, and it was immediately clear how excited they were. Their energy was warm, relaxed, and full of love—which made us all the more excited to capture their story.
Arriving at the venue, we were welcomed (as always) by the incredible David—possibly the best wedding coordinator in the business. His organisation, eye for detail, and genuine kindness make working at the Intercontinental a seamless and joyful experience every single time.
As the ceremony drew near, Robert and the guests arrived and settled in. Sue’s entrance was incredibly special—accompanied by her brother down the aisle and with her sister as maid of honour by her side. Watching Robert’s face light up with each step Sue took was one of those moments that stops time. His smile was absolutely infectious.
The ceremony conducted by Tarnya Bennet from I do For You ceremonies was heartfelt and beautifully delivered. Tarnya brings such warmth and presence to every ceremony—it’s always a pleasure to work alongside her.
After the ceremony, we captured the big group shot (taken from the roof of the chapel for the best angle!), followed by family portraits and then onto the couple’s photo session. One of the biggest joys of being both wedding photographers and videographers is having the opportunity to capture every moment from multiple perspectives—turning those memories into something truly timeless.
The Intercontinental has such beautiful ground to take images, we find new spots every time we shoot there. Of course, we always have our favourites, in saying this exploring is a great way to find new favourites.
As the sun dipped and the evening began, guests were treated to an incredible surprise—a stunning performance by a bellydancer from the Bellydance Academy She brought such vibrant energy to the room, leaving everyone smiling, clapping, and maybe even learning a few new moves. And let’s not forget the styling… Style On Q outdid themselves. The reception space was breathtaking!
From meaningful speeches to cultural dancing and a room full of joyful faces, Robert & Sue’s day was full of unforgettable memories. We were so honoured to be there to capture it all.
Thank you both for choosing J’adore to document your love story. We wish you a lifetime of laughter, adventure, and happiness together.
